I think this song is told from the perspective of an alcoholic,who's in some sort of a relationship(dating,possibly just a friendship) with this girl(Sylvia). He's recalling how she's helped him through his drunken nights,the song even seems to suggest that they met at a party.The last verse sounds like on one particular night,he was so wasted that he hit her,without really meaning to.In the chorus I think he's talking about how she's putting too much pressure on herself,that she needs to let him go and start to enjoy her life. I'm not sure about the "now tell me where they keep the rain" part tho |
