I still haven't figured this one out. I think he may be referencing either the song "Here comes my man" by Lou Reed, or "Here comes your man" by the Pixies. Or, since they're big Tom Petty fans, it could also be a reference to "Here comes my girl" by them. And i don't think it's about a girl leaving, i think its about him being either tired of waiting for her to make up her mind, or tired of being with her and not being treated the right way. But they've been together for a long time or are older, so starting over should seem like an unpleasant option, however, he's saying that it's not that bad and he's going to take that drastic step if necessary. I don't know, this is one of Gaslight's more confusing songs to me. But i love it. |
