This song seems to be Frank Ocean's feelings about the relationship he had with his first love that left him so heartbroken. He is clearly very distraught about the "unrequited love" that he feels. I see this song as also making a commentary about the taboo of same sex relationships in our society. Despite the intense emotions that he is feeling he feels that he has to keep them bottled up. mwantero in response to your question about the color to black and white line, it seems to me that he's saying that his memory of what he felt for his first love is never going to leave him, it's just going to become a more and more distant memory until it's so far away it seems "black and white." But it will always remain an inseparable part of him, all of those emotions that he felt have left their mark, all the highs and the lows.
