I just wanna break it all down lol seems easier. I fell in love with a wind-up souvenir (He's comparing his girlfriend to a doll) I bought it downtown as I was on my way to meet you (He met her before coming to see someone) She sounds the like the songs you used to sing to put me to sleep (I'm guessing maybe she could sing?) (I think this means she never cries no matter what happens) You're never gonna smile with the way that you are (This means she has no feelings what-so-ever) And I feel so all alone (I think this means he has no one to feel anything with like being happy, sad, mad, etc.) I can't be you I thought you might appreciate The way that she dances The painted look upon her face She must have come from the sun I want to take her through the park Where she'd tell me I'm all that she wants If she could even talk (This is the only part of this verse I really understood a lot, haha, but I think this means she never really says anything or she never says I love you.)
