So I was devastated when I found out this song was what it is so obviously about, but I guess I never really listened to the lyrics before recently, lol... I think we all agree it is about a crack whore. She is desperate for money but oftentimes ends up selling her body for drugs rather than money. And when she dies, it is the other crack whores who are calling out similar calls that she had called out before she got too tired of life and gave up. I also think the lyrics it's too cold for angels to fly is realizing that nobody will really help them, sad as that is. :-/ |

Even though he has a wife, she really wants something with him because he is well, hot. And he's been with her but has been playing games, so she gives him one last chance to be with her. This seems like such a sweet/sad song. In a few ways it reminds me of my boyfriend and me. Anyways, I think this song starts off about the days from when they were a young couple, obviously. But it really means something to the guy that he was able to get her to finally go out him. After he got her pregnant, they got engaged and made things work. Over the years things he got difficult and sometimes she wants to leave and run away. Sometimes even the guy in the marriage is slacking and he knows it. But in the end, he knew from the start that he always loved her and was not going to let her go and as the song lyric says, he wasn't going to let her run away, he wasn't going to let her go. So even when things get bad and rough and the marriage might end, he thinks back to how wonderful things were in the beginning and holds onto that to keep things going. I think it certainly has a bittersweet message, but I like to see it on the more hopeful note. :) |
