I think the last verse is written incorrectly. I listened to that part a couple times and watched her lip movement in the music video, I'm pretty sure it's "Into the night for once", not "until the night falls". Please fix this 'cause that potentially changes what the song is closer to meaning/could mean for others. If you listen closely, the words change a little bit each time she repeats a...verse, I guess you'd call it? For instance "will never see, will never know" sometimes turns out to be "you'll never see, you'll never know". I know it's debatable since it's hard to tell with the way the sound is manipulated in the song, but I'm pretty sure I'm hearing it right. Also, "holding on" sounds like "home in my.." and I can't figure out the rest. |

The director of the official music video for this song, Tao Ruspoli says it's "dividing", and seeing as how he's had direct involvement with and loves Alexander's work, I doubt he got that wrong. Also, Ruspoli's writing partner, Mark Wrathall, intentionally had Alexander look like jesus in the video and act lovingly. He had a lot of ideas, some of which were Christian beliefs, in mind represented to go with the song, and I'm sure he told Alexander about this when they pitched the idea for the music video. So I'm not so sure he's against the Bible..at least not enough to stop him from going with one of the writer's visions. |
