I think its stupid and unbelievable that people go off insulting others that have a different viewpoint to them. Someone said they think its a prayer to the sun, and maybe thats what they believe, and heck it may even be something they practice, but people have NO right to call that an 'ignorant' or 'blantantly stupid' response, and go on to say that its a prayer to Jesus Christ? like seriously? This could be a 'prayer', to God or Jesus, OR to the SUN... I, on the other hand, see this about a person reaching out to someone, finally allowing someone inside their 'walls' and to help them through a tough time. Just cause some people might prefer to put 'GOD' there instead of 'someone', it DOESN'T make that the ONLY plausible interpretation. Chris Cornell is smarter than that. |

When I first heard this when I was younger I thought it was about death... I don't know why I thought that. Listening it to it again, I think its about someone trying to reach out to someone who's going through a tough time, like depression.. or even someone who might be contemplating ending their life? But I think what most people said here is right, its about protecting someone you love... and wanting to take their pain away. Such a beautiful song. |
