| This song reminds me of finding love in the midst of depression... and letting them into your world, allowing them to pour some light onto your dark world and realizing what love can do. | |
| Lana Del Rey – Summertime Sadness Lyrics | 12 years ago |

This is one of my favorite one from all of Lana Del Ray's song. I remember listening to this song sometime last year, playing it over and over again and feeling that kind of summertime sadness in me. I think the song is about saying goodbye to someone, letting go of someone special to you, but instead of being sad about it, you see the good thing about the relationship and how it made you a better person. It's a beautiful song, a reminder of how we should see goodbyes in a different light. For me it was one of those things that I always try and find every time something good has to end, it's hard for me to let people go but at the same time, it's just one of those things that need to happen. I love the fact that she used summertime to describe the kind of sadness that she's feeling. It gives the song a more positive sound. During summer seasons, people are more likely to be happier, with the sun shining out every morning, you can't help but just smile to it as it represents another day of sunshine in your life. It's like the idea of “it was good while it lasted”, and the acceptance that you have to just let it go and be happy about it. |

| The Velvet Underground – Sunday Morning Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Listening to this song makes me feel that kind of hope that things will be better eventually. I always had this thing about Sundays, waking up on a sunday morning is just different from waking up on other days of the week, with the general association that sundays are the day for resting. The relaxed feeling of waking up and not having to do anything, unlike monday mornings where you get that monday blues, that the weekend is over and back to work or school, the morning rush, the stress of going back to the normal day to day life. The nice melody of song gives that relaxed feeling when you listen to it, and Lou Reeds' voice that is so calming, this song is just the perfect one for a good sunday drive, sunny and the roads are less crowded and relaxed than any other days. My favorite line from this song is this one “watch out the world's behind you”. The idea of looking at things this way, you feeling the heavy weight of things, going through yet again another hard time, you really gotta look back and see how you managed to get to where you are and what are the things you've managed to get through, and you will see they're all behind you now. Someone told me before that when I'm going through something, I should think about some moments in the past where I felt almost the same feeling as what I'm feeling now, and see how I would just shrug a shoulder about it now. And that's how I should see the future, me shrugging a shoulder about the thing that I'm worrying about at the moment. |
