I'm really late with this reply, but: That's exactly what I thought. At first listen I understood it as love being the funny thing, and I loved that line at once; only later did it occur to me that it could mean something else, and that that second version is more probable, because it makes more sense with "to be the ones to've seen." Though I still like to think it was meant my way, for the exact same reason as you stated. |
