| Kittie – Do You Think I'm A Whore? Lyrics
| 12 years ago
|
|
I think that this song is about feminism, and how men are taught subconsciously to see women as whores (like you can buy their sex with dinner, gifts, etc.) "This is your words for me/A little sheltered girl is what I'll always be/So loving and considerate/Too scared of what I'll be." This is how society wants women to be, although it's not overt as it was in the past. Despite this, she believes that men think otherwise. "I look into the mirror, the whore is all I see." |

| Avril Lavigne – Things I'll Never Say Lyrics

I never realized this before, but it makes sense. "If I could say what I want to say, I'd say I want to blow you...away. Be with you every night. Am I squeezing you too tight? If I could say what I want to see, I want to see you go down...on one knee." Double entendre maybe? |

I think that this song is pretty self explanatory; it's people who do extremely odd things, e.g. "fuck the dead" but think of themselves as normal. |

| Mindless Self Indulgence – Adios Amigos Lyrics

The chorus "Adiós amigos, no estas usted/Adiós amigos, no es bueno" is not grammatically correct. He's calling his "friends" the formal usted instead of the casual tú, which makes me believe that the connotation is that they're not even his friends at all. I also think that the lyrics "Let's go to the mall/Pick up some kids/Spread some diseases" is about how their music is being spread to teenagers, who are notorious mall-goers; it's jokingly referred to as a disease, perhaps an STD of some sort. Or maybe Jimmy Urine just pulled all of this out his ass. |

This song is about how people often talk about how "Money's not everything in the world", "Happiness is more important" etc. etc., yet still secretly love it. |

I've always loved how it's relatively calm, and then once it gets to the chorus it explodes, allowing Billie to vent his frustration over his situation. |

| Liz Phair – Supernova Lyrics

I never really thought about it, but it is about a guy who shoots big loads. "Giant flying friction blast" and "fuck like a volcano" can both attest to that. Anyway, this song appears to be about a relationship where both partners are sexual compatible, thus leading the singer to believe that she really really cares about him. |

| Bratmobile – Gimme Brains Lyrics

I think that this song is about guys who think that they're so cool and rebellious for being in a band and being "bad", but who are simply just stupid; thus why the singer wants brains for breakfast and lunch. She doesn't want a brainless idiot for a partner, she wants someone with substance and who appreciates her as an intellectual equal. |

She's dissecting herself, looking into her deepest feelings about the world around her. It's quiet at first, and eventually the tension builds and explodes. Her inner world an inner spasm of sadness, then anger over everything. |

I think that this song is much more clever than people give it credit for. After he says "Gettin' horny now" there's horns, for example. |

| Jack Off Jill – Devil With the Black Dress On Lyrics

I've always thought that this song was about how rock music has always been blamed for kids disobeying their parents, being rebellious, and even worshiping Satan. "Kids sure like the devil these days..." JOJ is a band that is dark is sound and image so I can see the connections. |

Well, it's rather apparent that this parody is about the Monica Lewinsky scandal. It always makes me chuckle, especially at the "presidential kneepads" part. |

| Liz Phair – Russian Girl Lyrics

I think that this song about a party girl, a girl that lives fast and rushes through life. Russian doesn't actually mean from Russia, in this case. The lines "Young child, sitting all alone/Hot child, she wants to take you home" are from "Hot Child in the City" by Nick Gilder, which itself is about young girls on the run. |

While NAwlinsContrarian has an interesting interpretation of the title, I've always thought that it was eerily similar to "Strap-On Guy". |
