could be wrong, but pretty sure this one's about jade.. you can totally see the child in her when she performs or interviews, she exudes a harmless naivety (oh she wants to stay a child now and wonders why we ever, ever have to die), a careless sense of freedom (she moves in ripples, ripples)... and of course she is completely entrancing (calls out to me like a siren to a scoundrel).
but regardless of whether this song belongs to her, or someone else, it's an illuminated portrait of a man mesmerized and strikes a chord many love songs fail to do... or perhaps it's just the sun in my eyes |
