Perkodanny- you are dead on right. No doubt this thing is about drugs. The trousers part is about a relationship, but he is saying everything is good as long as you know the drugs are in control. |

I agree with Sammi- I think it is about his mother and her dying. He even outright says it saying you'll be like you were to mold like clay and break like dirt. I think part of it involves God too, and just him dealing with her dying and there being so many unresolved issues. |

I think this is about a prostitute because he seems to say how he loved her when she'd go. I think she started to like him which is why he says I stumbled onto you, kinda found you, and she fell over over him, and that is why she said fate was cruel. he didnt feel that way for her. Just my opinion. His new GF that looks a lot like her is probably just another whore |

Well, I am definitely not good at understanding lyrics or poetry, but I have to agree this is certainly, in part, about a relationship. The part about roses free to me has less to do about believing what others tell you and just understanding everything has a cost. That may be an off reference to religion because of the fact that religion isn't free, but I just think it means everything we do in life has a cost, and nothing is free no matter who the F says it.
I love the tie in of seasons here. Very crafty. The part about the pumpkin, to me, is just saying once you carve it out and the pumpkin is empty its done, useless, discard it- unless for some reason you think it is the key. I think that's a reference to the relationship too, once there's nothing left, move on. It's done.
I also think it is about life in general too, dont take shit too serious. Work hard when you know ya need to, but don't allow things to make you want to kill people. Might be another reference to the relationship- like dont let people do that to you. Just forget it, live your life, and be happy.
Just my thoughts. I am glad I read some of your comments because this song had no meaning to me until I read some of the other perspectives on here. Very cool song now! |
