| How To Destroy Angels – Fur Lined Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I always thought that this song relates to Trent Reznor's video campaign for PETA. You should see the video. If I am right, then “everything is echoing” refers to pain being suffered by one animal is the same pain being suffered by other animal next to it, or at the other end of the slaughterhouse. Furry animals get chemical treatment, when trying to find out if a toxin is dangerous enough for humans. In fur and animal meat processing facilities animals get skinned, some while still alive. |

| Bryan Ferry – Is Your Love Strong Enough Lyrics | 13 years ago |

So no-one has any ideas on what the meanings may be? Strong enough to die for after “just one beat of your heart” or maybe in one? Why did Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross choose this song/these lyrics for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo? Every time I hear it, in context of the film, I find myself thinking of all the girls Martin Vanger politely “invited” to his basement over the years. The second option for this song is when Lisbeth Salander rolls up with a charismas gift to Mikael Blomkvist and sees him walking arm in arm with Erika Berger, this after she tells her father of how she met someone he would approve of, and then she gets disappointed in someone she is so fond of. A "rock in the sea" can be viewed as a holdfast, something to tie down to. A rock in the sea can also be viewed as something that does not erode and wither away so easily. |
