This song is, to me, about a child whose mother has died to protect it. The child is remembering the mother as alive and while realizing the death and the bravery she endured to protect the child. This child still remembers wanting or still wants her sex, or "tit" based milk sustenance...maternal comfort. The central verse is about the child's life now and how they are living with the memory and effects of absence and memory of the mother. The memory of the mother alive is in conflict with the realization that she was "the kill" and the "fox with blood stained lips" the hunter. This song is heartbreakingly sad and amazing. |
