| The XX – Angels Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think it's about caring about someone more than they care about you. they don't really notice you or care too. and you seem to think that they are so great and if everyone else knew them the way you did they would feel the same way. "if someone believed me they would be in love with you as i am" i also think she is saying that she is so in love with this person that if something went terribley wrong to where she was greated by angles she would be ok with it as long as he was with her. "And the end is unknown But I think I'm ready As long as you're with me" i love the xx and cant wait to buy the whole album of coexist!! |

| The Shins – Phantom Limb Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This seems like it's a boy and a girl in a school and town they do not like. They want to like each other but there is no connection. They aren't popular and kinda blend in "a phantom and a fly". They dont want to remeber the town but just to get out and start fresh | |
| The Shins – New Slang Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think it's about when you were younger you were happy and oblivious, but when you grow up fall in and out of love, see and experience dissapointment. You get angry and realize you aren't who you used to be. You want someone to trust you and take a liking to you, because you promise it will end well. Even after all of this you realize you are not having a good life and you are just seeing what a good life is supposed to be. you understand you may never have one, and that it is diffucult to even say what that means exactly. | |
| Snow Patrol – Set the Fire to the Third Bar Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| p.s. i also think that they "set fire to the third bar" because they want to enjoy each other alone without any distractions from other people. | |
| Snow Patrol – Set the Fire to the Third Bar Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think it's about being far from someone you love, in distance and thought. All you have left of them is memory. "I hang my coat up in the first bar There is no peace that I've found so far The laughter penetrates my silence As drunken men find flaws in science" ... "After I have traveled so far We'd set the fire to the third bar We'd share each other like an island Until exhausted, close our eyelids And dreaming, pick up from The last place we left off Your soft skin is weeping A joy you can't keeping" I think these two parts about the bar are saying it doesn't matter that other people are having a good time, because you are still "miles" from where you want to be -with the person you love. I think the whole "set the fire to the third bar" is because they were feeling so many emotions- happy, and mad, and sad that they just wanted to do something crazy. |

| Tegan and Sara – Walking with a Ghost Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think it means it doesn't matter if her boyfriend leaves or stays with her, because she is over him and he's not what she thinks about anymore. The lyrics "i was walking the ghost, i said please, please don't insist" mean that he is only a ghost of his former self, and her ex lover isn't who he used to be. |
| UB40 – Red Red Wine (Neil Diamond cover) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think it's about being depressed because of someone leaving you so you go out and try to have fun to forget about it. Even when he's drunk her face won't leave his mind completly. | |
| The XX – Heart Skipped a Beat Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think this song is sad. It's about trying to convince someone who wants to end the realtionship and move on that you can still give that person something. I think it's about understanding that person isn't there for you anymore but you just can't seem to let them go. Also the lyrics "Heart skipped a beat And when I caught it you were out of reach But I'm sure, I'm sure You've heard it before" mean that the narator fealt something and that they are sure there past lover has felt the same way sometime in there realtionship. |
| Starfucker – Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think this song is about someone staying with him that always leaves, and when he starts to think about people leaving he realizes no one really stays. "all my life there you go" "all my life there they go" |
| Simon and Garfunkel – America Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think it's about the memories of falling in love and exploring America. This is such an amazing song, and it always makes me smile. | |
| Phantogram – When I'm Small Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I never thought about it like that but now it makes alot of sense. i was trying to figure the title out and now i finally understand, and yah ^ i thought it could also mean she was talking in third person. | |
| Florence + the Machine – Bird Song Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I'm not sure if it's actually supposed to be a bird but i do know that someone (or something) saw/found out all the terrible things she had done and was going to tell everyone so she killed it. After every terrible thing inlcuding killing the "bird" haunts her, and she can't stop saying what she had done. |

| Florence + the Machine – Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Everyone has there own refrence to what they think this song means. I think it is definitly about sacrafice after you do something wrong (as in taking the wrong pill and raising it up). i think she asks for forgivness, and it is not granted. I dont spefically think this song is religious but i do think its spiratual. I think when she says "this is a gift who is the lamb and who is the knife" she is saying the gift is to be a predator not prey. I think she is scared at first as a rabbit-hearted girl (prey), but then becomes brave when she has to make the final sacrafice(predator). You can sacrafice so many things, to a way of life to a person. So it reallly depends on how you think.. |
| Florence + the Machine – Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Honestly, it shouldn't matter what a band believes, and i understand if they were being offensive in there lyrics, but i really don't believe F+M is offensive against religion at all... you dont even know that it's about florence, many songs are writen in narative when it's not about them. And even though i do think this song is about sacrafice i dont think that it has anything to do with the devil. | |
| Florence + the Machine – What the Water Gave Me Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| It's about the power of water how it can take your loved ones, or bring loved ones home. How water is alluring and resourceful. How you are always bargaining with the water. At the end i think the narrator seaks out beautiful death there because she wants to join someone who died in the water. | |
| Florence + the Machine – Heavy in Your Arms Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is a very powerful song, and depending on the mood im in i think it means different things to me. I think her heart being "heavy" means that she is sad and there is something that is weighing her down. It's as if the one she loves it is almost a bad thing for her to love her back. Its as if he is dragging her around because she is so sad. |
| Florence + the Machine – Hurricane Drunk Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I love this song for so many reasons. Anyways, I think the hurricane is her anger. When she sees, maybe, her ex boyfriend with another girl while she is still in love with him it makes her angry. So she thinks she'll get drunk, to stop the pain. The anger is making her feel alive because her adrenaline is pumping, but the hurt of seeing him with another girl makes her feel dead. |
| Florence + the Machine – Leave My Body Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think Florence is saying she doesnt need the night, or the clouds, or even "your heart" and that all she wants is one beautiful out of body moment. She doesnt care if shes not sane at the moment, but she doesnt think she needs much to have it. I think the part that says "history keeps pulling me down" has something to do with history repeating itself, and that she cant leave whatever she wants to for the moment. | |
| Radiohead – Videotape Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think he is saying that he knows he will soon die and he wants to be rembered by a perfect day, and the person that is his "center when he spins away" | |
| Iron & Wine – Each Coming Night Lyrics | 13 years ago |
He is asking if his love will say beautiful things about him when he was living, once he dies. "Will you say to me when I'm gone: "Your face has faded but lingers on Because light strikes a deal with each coming night" He knows that she loves him and that she will miss him but that his memory will be forever with her, but it will fade with time. |

| Radiohead – How to Disappear Completely Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I truely think it's about when something so bad happens to you that you can't face it. So you think that it's not happening. It's about denial. He says "I'm not here, this isn't happening" because he wants to believe thats the truth. He's trying to sooth himself of the pain that accured. "Strobe lights and blown speakers, Fireworks and hurricanes, I'm not here, This isn't happening " I think this means how there is sad and emotional things that are happening and he doesn't want to be there more than anything. |
| Radiohead – Talk Show Host Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I seriously love this song. But anyways the first few lines "I want to, I want to be someone else or I'll explode" I think it means he wants to be someone else, because he is either ashamed of himself, or of what someone else thinks of him. I think the lines: "You want me? Fuckin' well, come and find me. I'll be waitin' With a gun and a pack of sandwiches, And nothin'" show alot of force saying that he is not afraid or doesnt want to hide anymore and is willing to face whatever is to "find" him. This could just be an angry ex lover wanting to come and make him feel bad. It could also mean someone has been trying to find him and he finally doesnt care if they do. |
| Phantogram – When I'm Small Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think it has to do with love, and loss. I think she has recently lost someone, a friend (Lucy), and she misses her, but also doesn't know if she should join her. I feel like she is telling her love interest to make her love him, maybe. But in the end she is sad, and angry at him maybe at both of them. I think this is a compelling, and kinda sad song that can be interpreted different ways considering your life experience. |
