this is the best interpretation i have seen, in my opinion at least. Though for the mental illness i see drug addiction. Most of his songs speak of that to me. and if you listen to the cd all the way through its like his trials and pains as he pushes away those he loves, and inner pain from hating what he has become and being unable to change the addiction. Lines like "Whatever words they say (you said it) whomever they betray (you did it) whenever they're awake it makes me die" I think its talking about the lies and deciet that seeps in as the drug takes over and relationships are ruined more and more, and how when high he feels awake (good) but it is slowly killing him. and that the voices switch from a lover pushed away by his habbit, unable to handle stress, and a voice of his dark passenger (addiction) coercing him into the frozen hell of his mind. his cell, dwelling alone in his mind since others were pushed away |

| how does no one see it... its about a mistress, but not a female. Frozen = too intoxicated to think ( your thoughts are frozen in place). the pain and self loathing is so deep in the heart of a heroin user, but it changes you, melds with your soul. but the second you get high it all fades away, a synthetic ecstasy... "One motion of her wanting mind, The real world begins to fade, And all the hateful things I have become, Temporarily go away" . try listening to his other songs with this point of view in mind. even the name of the band, celldweller. living alone with himself as everything has been ruined through drug addiction. think about it.... | |

| this, and every other one of his songs is completely about inner turmoil. and its amazing that everyone in some way can relate . but its not waiting on someone, or anything like that. Its about the struggle of being an addict... the alternate voices in all of his songs is the "demon" inside. or the voice of the mistress that is heroin. its unreal how powerful his songs. If you have been there, its obvious, in all of them | |
