He's taking a line from an old Monkees song "Zilch", in which it is just a nonsense lyric. But he imbues it with meaning by using it in this damning indictment of J.R. Bob Dobbs, and the Church of the Sub-Genius. Considering he uses a symbol from the comic book and atheist manifesto "Transmetropolitan", it is possible he is actually using the Sub-G as a stand-in for religion in general. |

| Oingo Boingo – Animals Lyrics

This is an exploration of evolution as metempsychosis - about the animal nature present in humanity, under the veneer of culture. What I like about this is that it is clearly a celebration of the animal nature as a part of the whole self, as in the lyrics "we don't have a basement (abasement)". |

The age-old concept of the memory palace began as a mnemonic technique in ancient Greece, in which one memorizes lists of names or concepts by imagining them being placed in rooms of a building, or on walls of a room. I like the way this concept is presented here, in conjunction with another mnemonic, the objects standing for letters standing for words. The MWH mnemonic is very clever, with the mirror making a "double you" - see what he did there? The night life bit may refer to entering the memory palace while dreaming, which is a method of introducing free association and stimulating creativity. |

| Men Without Hats – Where Do the Boys Go? Lyrics

This is a reference to Neverland, where the immortal lost boys danced in circles, pretending to be Indians. And on a deeper level it is about the loss of childhood. You see this Peter Pan theme come back in the 2012 album in the song Live and Learn, in which a pirate theme is paired with the concept of growing up. |

On the surface, it is about a person wandering lost in a snow storm. But the implication is that this is a post-apocalyptic ice age brought on by global warming. Humanity tried to cheat nature's scheme and now its our turn to be at the mercy of the elements. |
