Gotye – Eyes Wide Open Lyrics 12 years ago
I believe that this song is about the idea that though people see what's happening around them, but only a few people actually do anything about it, or want to acknowledge the problems.
Due to this the people are essentially leading to either their own downfall, or even the downfall of others/the world.

"And this dust is all that's left of us.
But only a few ever worried.
Well the signs were clear, they had no idea."

However it also talks about how there are other reasons for this 'downfall' that is happening. One of them being that people give up on their ideas/dreams, because they are afraid of failing, or afraid of what they want. Because of this people are 'staying afloat', so just trying to stay alive; instead of living their life. To not want/dream in one way or another is considered not 'human', as said in this line.

"You just get used to living in fear,
But it was like to stop consuming is to stop being human,
We're all in the same boat, staying afloat for the moment."

In this sense 'walking the plank' is walking to your end, your downfall; when you can see that there is a way out, or you don't want to see your situation.

As the song says "And the saddest thing is all of it could have been avoided.".

Shiny Toy Guns – Chemistry of a Car Crash Lyrics 13 years ago
I absolutely love this song!
I personally think it's about a relationship when they've been trying to make it work, however though it used to be great, its all falling apart. It sounds like it's partially because they have grown distant from one another, and though one of them is trying to hold on, you can't hold onto something thats not there. The one who has been trying to hold on realises that the other person no longer feels the same, as they did before.

"What took you so far away'
Cause I know
That you don't feel the same
And I've never felt
So alien
Don't tear us apart again
We're ok :) it's nothing . .
It's all chemistry of a car crash"

Greg Laswell – Come Back Down (feat. Sara Bareilles) Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song is about someone who lost someone, and their friend is trying to help them through it, however this person (who lost the person) just can't get over whoever they loved that died. I also think the song could be about someone who's lover broke up with them and their struggling to get over their love.

Come on now you're good friends are here waiting this one out (the friend who is helping with the loss)

You've gotta come back down (from their depression, or their thoughts)

Look around you you're the only one dragging this out (with the relationship idea this would be about the lover, for he/she would be dragging out what ever is left of their relationship, however with the loss of a loved one, it would be similar, with the person dragging out the memory of the person, and carrying or dragging the baggage of the person's memory around with them everywhere, and instead of remembering the happy times they would just stay attached to the sadness. )

It's getting pathetic and I'm almost done here (the friend talking about the main character, he/she is 'almost done here' because they believe that the main character believes that they no longer needs help from them.

What you set out to kill off has been gone some time now (either revenge or what was left of the relationship)

Head out any further and you might just forget how (again with the revenge that they may want)

Anyways but that is just my interpretation of the song.

Uh Huh Her – Another Case Lyrics 13 years ago
I recently found this song on youtube, and I have to admit, that i've come to really love it.

In my opinion I think the song is about a boyfriend, who hasn't gotten over his last girlfriend. That's why she is asking to "tell me i'm the only one". She is trying to gain this guy, however he is still so in love with this other girl.

"I'm better than the other one" {the other girl he's in love with}

"Tell me i'm the only one though it's not the same". She knows he's lying. For the other girl is still in his heart. It's not the same when he says it to her, because she can hear that he still loves the other girl, and therefore the way he says she's the 'only one' she knows that it's 'not the same'. Also their relationship will never be the same as his other love, and that's another reason that it's 'not the same'. She's acknowledging the fact that he may not love, in the same way as he loved his past love.

"I'll beat it, you're the weaker one" she's willing to do whatever to 'beat' this other girl, who has broken his heart.

"I will stay til i'm the only one" for though he is in love with another girl she is willing to stay, until she is his 'only one'.

"I will break you either way it seems
I'll stop it when i've finally won" She is trying to win his heart, despite the fact it's broken, however she knows that she may break his heart by trying to repair it, and she'll stop when she's 'won'.

Anyways but that's my opinion of the song. : )
