when i bought my electric guitar, my father told me to listen to this song, and i loved it. time goes so fast, and then you realize ten years have got behind you. we're getting older and older. "Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain" is when you are bored, there are a lot of good things you could be doing, but you are doing nothing. "Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town" is when the feeling nostalgia fills you, you remebembering the good times you had. "So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking" is when you realize that you are wasting your time, but it's late, you are older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death. "home, home again" - it's too late to enjoy life, now you are gonna be a sad person. "Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines" is when you dreams are impossible (most dreams are). dad, thank you so much for introducing me to pink floyd, now i'm in love with this wonderful band :) |
