I've felt this way so often.
You want to text or call him, maybe even ask questions and whenever you want to, you can't and when you don't, you almost do. It's really tricky ... the only way to describe the feeling is to feel completely helpless of a situation. So many questions pop up in your head like "Will he reply?" "Is it worth it?" "What's the point?" "I wonder what he's up to" "If I don't, nothing will happen but what if I do?". |

It's really interesting reading such different perspectives on this song! I personally love Katy Perry and teenage dream; with that being said I feel I have listened enough to gain a little perspective on a possible meaning. To me, I interpret this song as someone (Katy) fulfilling her teenage dream (getting with a guy) when they're adults -- hence when she says "You make me, feel like I'm living a, teenage dream." She says he makes her FEEL like she's having a teenage dream -- it doesn't say anywhere in the song they are teenagers. We all know what it's like to be teenagers, all hormone crazy so I do believe she's fulfilling a teenage dream with a guy in her present [as an adult]. |

When I hear this song and listen to the lyrics, the first thing that comes to my head is, well, youth. I'm not saying this because the song is called "We Are Young" OR the fact the chorus is surrounding youth in itself BUT I do believe that everyone, no matter your age can experience the innocence and, almost vulnerability of feeling young again. It is entirely a feel good song and that I'm sure makes people of any age feel nostalgic. |
