This song is for ambition and dedication. Once you set a far away goal it makes sense, otherwise it is not as powerful (Build a fire a thousand miles away to light my long way home). After you build this far away fire (your goal) you have to acknowledge your loneliness, because if you expect others to understand you have failed, you don't want to fight, you just want to please others. Then you take risks, and always more tries (ambition). Other people with no goals feel threatened by your dedication, and they "laugh, and crowd the path", but in the meantime you notice you got some allies, which is not a clear message, but it is there "They'll watch US rise with fire in our eyes". And then you win, and hopefully start over again, for a bigger goal. |
