Stating that Wallpaper. is catering to the hipster white community is a stupid notion. First, the hipster population does not consist of all whites. Also, your statement makes it seem like there are only ghetto communities and white communities in the bay, which is not true. From San Francisco, throughout the peninsula, South, and East Bay, there are so many diverse cultures and ethnicities. If Wallpaper. was only trying to cater to those you say, that would be their greatest mistake as artists and that isn't the case at all. Who would divide the market like that and only aim at one demographic? I think that you get off on the idea that this song is about white people because you mention it more than enough (whites in suburban areas, in reference to awkward silence). You're an idiot. Do you feel an awkward silence, when surrounded by people of other backgrounds? Some artists write lyrics because they sound good and not because it means something deeper. The point is to get people to listen if they feel the lyrics and beat. They were probably drunk or high, when they wrote this song. My advice to you is to stay up, in all meanings, so why don't you dig a little deeper on that meaning. You're thinking too much into the lyrics of the song, dude. |
