Another great PT song about loss..my feeling is that the first verse is about the devastation of losing someone through death. The second about the lesson learnt through loss, of living life for the moment and the harsh reality of acceptance that we will all eventually die. The chorus alludes to how we are just part of the big picture, just falling snow being a metaphor, meaning dont fret, just enjoy what you have now. I will slow your fall is the difference someone makes to your life, the part they play in your journey but also a reminder that they cannot halt the inevitable. The little man is any one of us, a reminder that no matter how small or insignificant, we all play our part in the world and leave our mark. |

To me this song’s about the act of carrying on living after the devastation of losing a loved one and with the sudden severing of all contact with that person, the emotional wasteland that’s left and the deep yearning to make contact with that person again. Left in the same walls.. he’s wondering if the dead survive in some form and can still see those left alive. Left on long wall could be a metaphor for how isolated he feels from the world in his grief and the next line an acknowledgement of the support offered by those around him. His debt is repaid by surviving and getting older, even though he doesn’t want to. |

| Eva Cassidy – Autumn Leaves Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| For me, it tells of loss through death and the pain it brings with every autumn anniversary, the painful memories, dying leaves and the onset of winter all portraying someone in deep grief.. | |
