I thought the song was about an abusive relationship. " Just smoke my cigarette and hush" - relating to her keeping the abuse a secret . She stays because she loves him. She just cant seem to help falling for the bad guy , reminiscing about her previous bad boy lovers " Fernando" and " Roberto". She even compares him to her father. |

I think this song is about a guy who pursued a girl and it went further than he wanted it to. He likes her but doesn't want to commit to her fully so just tries and maintains a casual relationship (4th paragraph) as he doesn't have the guts to tell her he doesn't think she's the one. (5th). |

I think the song is about a guy who has previously been a bit of a cheat or a player , but now he's met someone that he wants to settle down with. He may have hurt her in the past but he's realised she's the one. Never gonna leave this bed means he's going to stay with her , he doesn't want to be in anyone else's bed. The first two lines show how he feels he cant treat her like he has treated other girls in the past as he cares too much. |
