Simon and Garfunkel – Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall Lyrics 12 years ago
Nearly all the comments I read so far are wrong. This is not a song of about the writer. It is his observation on the reality around him. He is writing about nearly every modern man who are an existentialist or atheist. Deep down that is how that is how they feel, if they search deep enough. Is a hopeless existence. That is why existential religion like Buddhism advocate emptiness and abstainance from desire as the answer. He is saying, whatever we try to convince ourselves, life is bigger than us. We needed a higher power. The question we must ask: Is which higher power? Many suggest that their song " Bridge over troubled waters" is in fact a Gospel about "Jesus Christ". Life is too precious not to seek for an answer.
