I don't dare trying to decipher the meaning behind this song. It seems like it attends to subjects like blame, self-reflection etc. I do want to add to the comment of referencing a video game, though, because the last "jingle" right before the outro is a 1:1 copy of a part in the main theme of said game. I am trying to keep it easy-to-understand in case you are not familiar with the game nor video games as a medium. "Hades" is a video game where you play as Zagreus, being the son of Hades in this version of the myth. Hades is the god of the underworld, and he ruling with a stern hand. You are told that your mother is Nyx, the goddess of night; she is not a god in actual terms, but a titan, the progenitor to the gods. Eventually, you find a letter from a woman named Persephone, revealing that in fact she is your mother, but she left Hades. You confront your father, but he dismisses you. Zagreus wants to meet his mother, fully intend of leaving the underworld, but Hades prohibits him from doing so. You (as Zagreus) have to fight your way from the bottom of the underworld towards the surface, clashing with popular figures of the greek mythology while also getting help from the gods of Olympus. Eventually, you reach the surface and find your mother. But as a being of the underworld, you cannot linger there for too long. Soon after, you die and get dragged back down. The game itself is heavily randomized, offering you new abilities and routes towards the surface, making sure that no run feels like the one before. You keep battling out of underworld, with your mother always waiting at the end to cherish the few hours you have before your impending demise. Do with this information what you will; I just thought it important to point it out, seeing that this song is quite literally connected to the game. EDIT: I just saw Misha Mansoor, one of the band's guitarists, commented on the official Youtube video to this song they uploaded, confirming that the band is kinda addicted to the game and even mentioning that they would have released the album sooner of not for them playing the game all day :D |

To me this song is about someone who stops believing in a god or a religion while starting to live an independent life, taking responsibility for himself. "Standing free of design" is nailing this for me: In religion, humans are usually created by an intelligent designer / god. Now, being an "entity of his own", he has to come to terms with his existance without a reason, without a purpose given by religion. This thought is troublesome for the singer: "But already the thought lost my mind in question, beyond reason". The refrain mirrors this premise. Finally, he comes to terms with the meaning of life, if not given by religion: "To feel and see, create and dream, it is our duty to live while we can". Life is a gift, something beautiful and wonderful, and every life is important. The singer does not need purpose given by religion; he can try to do the best with the time he has, making his own decisions and living to the fullest. |

| Issues – The Langdon House Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I think it's about a boy who always strived for his fathers attention and wanted to fit in, but he gave up on it and isolated himself from society. He's at parties without friends and everyone thinks of him as a cold dude with no respect from anyone. Nonetheless he is introverted and shy, which makes him sick. He knows that he could have friends and act like a "normal" human, but his inner fight with himself is a battle he cannot win. | |

Awesome song. I guess its about how girls these days dress, dance and party. They try so hard to get attention, maybe too hard. The singer doesn't want to be included in this, so she is the "can of dirty water". Maybe I'm off with this, but I can't think of anything better |

I understand those lyrics as followed: We aren't supposed to search for answers when something in our life goes wrong because humanity is bound to fall. Every step we take leads to a defeat, and searching for all those answers we want for our life would take forever and destroys us even more. So if we make wrong decisions, we should just go forward and keep on living til we found something we can call a home, 'cause then all the mistakes and wrong decisions we made were useful; they led us to inner peace. |

The meaning is pretty obvious: It's about losing trust in all your actions. It just sometimes happens that you do everything right, but you don't seem to progress in life itself. You aim high, but eventually notice that you're not that big impact on earth you want yourself to be, so your grip to life slowly loosens. But like any WCAR-Song, it has a positive ending: We just need time to realize what we really are, and what we really are able to do, so we can recover from the shock of our own existence. |

| Die Toten Hosen – Alles aus Liebe Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| In conclusion, the song is about a couple in love, but the guy thinks he's not able to express his feelings for her well enough. This disturbs him so much that he starts thinking his girlfriend might leave him for another one. Thats the reason why he considers killing her as well as himself in order to be with her together for eternity. | |
| Ice Nine Kills – Dead is the New Black Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| My favourite song on the album, but I don't know how to interpetate it =/ My guess is that it's about a somewhat pessimistic person who gives advice to just let your hope and wishes go, because Life is impossible to live right. But some lines won't add up with my viewpoint, like "We're all miserable thinking of you" or "...but it's not going to save you tonight" | |
