the premise of awake and asleep is backwards. the people who go through this world claiming to live with their eyes open are actually dead spiritually and sleeping. In other words, the people who constantly think about practical reality are the one's against the advice of following the passions. In truth, this whole reality that seems so real is actually and illusion, a dream, a holographic universe. the guy chooses to see life for what it really is and says if it is a dream then don't wake me up. let me live my life and when it's time to die or when I wake up, there is nothing to be afraid of. Feeling my way through the darkness using probably 5+ senses he trying to perceive the known and unknown worlds of this existence called life. Guided by a beating heart if existence/god is the signal that makes life possible and the heart is the antenna that receives the signal, then sends it to the brain to observe and bring about reality on and individual/personal level, that would mean your heart is literally your guide. I can't tell where the journey will end But I know where to start Even the longest journey starts with a single step. | I am not a religious person and I don't really like saying I'm a spiritual person. I This song is very seductive and it's meant to be. All Satan ever wanted was for you to give yourself to it. It is a cancerous consciousness saying "Love me, follow me, I will give you whatever you want but I need you to follow me." It will suffer if it loses your soul and everything in this universe it the key to that. Very true. Satan will come in the name of God/LOVE and tell you how much it loves you. It will use anything good that LOVE made to get what it wants. It will give you pleasure and protect you from pain. Pain and pleasure are irrelevant next to the LOVE of God, and one will never know what that is until one experience it for one's self. I would never be able to explain it to anyone it's that good. Satan is a cancerous energy that exists in scalar reality from almost the highest level of LOVE to something smaller than the DNA in our bodies, so it is everywhere. It controls all the media, all academia, all religious and organized spiritual groups, all governments, and sad to say most music. I know what this song does to me as I love it. | as i understood it the Greek word Khristos means anointed or anointed one. But i agree with you about Christians acting with and without love 100%. you are absolutely correct. I was brought up as a Christian and have had my own journey of discovery. A great many Christians i have met have a great deal of hate in their hearts and that is fine because it has nothing to do with me. i however would never be able to paint all Christians as unloving. that will never be possible and it is unfair to the ones who do carry love in their hearts like Jesus said to do. | I love how all the born again Christians scramble all over eat other when they hear the words "born again" throughout history religious phrases,iconography,or symbolism have been used in writing to express ideas. They are not always meant to be literal. The bible itself uses a great amount of allegory. Allegory has a bigger affect on people when expressing thoughts. | |

| wow that is some explanation. and it is true IWasFalling13, you definitely like to write. I saw a great comment on youtube and can't find in now amid the thousands of comments posted so I will paraphrase. For the video interpretation, when she was in love everything seemed like a ferry tail, and when she woke up to reality it became a nightmare. She had to use her inner strength to move on from the bad stuff to get to a better part of her life. I take no credit for this interpretation but i would like to support it and share it. I think the song has a lot to do with this interpretation. | |

| i just heard someone talk about how we are about to awaken into a new consciousness and they used the caterpillar transforming into the butterfly as a metaphor. not coincidentally, because i don't believe in coincidences, katy perry's wide awake video shows a caterpillar and transforming into a butterfly. i am so happy to be living in this time and place because we are really on the cutting edge of something special. i can't wait for 2013 and beyond. i would just like to clarify that being "awake" is not the same thing as the "Great Awakening." One is dealing with a oneness that has everything connected, the latter is of Christian origin. | |

| so i just saw the new video and the look of it seems to be inspired by Alice in Wonderland. the song is saying this world that we live in operates in multiple dimensions. I think the little girl is obviously her but in a different form. The little girl is her higher self or her spirit that connects her to the great creator or consciousness or source energy. She went on a journey with her soul and found that she could overcome many obstacles that got in her way by using the infinite power within herself. | |

| so i just listened to the song again. it could just be about her ending her marriage with Russel Brand. i mean that's what it sounds like. just put everything in context and it's all there. "The story's over now, the end." she's putting it to rest and she knows she can walk away a better, stronger person. she's born again meaning she gets a new start. It may not have anything to do with religion or spirituality. yet again so many interpretations from one song. | |

i feel the song is talking about her shattering ancient paradigms of the world we live in today. The funny thing about consciousness is like God, or source energy, it's everywhere. I don't like using the word awakening because it seems lately everyone is talking about it. But it's true everyone is waking up to this idea of a better world than we ever thought possible. the cloud 9 reference in the song is suggesting this perfect place that everyone perceives as so perfect but really isn't. we have been fooled into thinking that this is the best it can be but actually there is so much more and as long as people have blinders on they will never be able to imagine the infinite possibilities we are capable of. The gravity hurts part and the falling is a necessary catalyst that wakes her up. she landed on her feet as we all will when we come to realize what life is all about. ( for those of you who have no clue what i'm talking about i mean to live life in joy and unconditional love) she's born again meaning her old way of seeing the world is dead and she is in touch with her higher self. she is in touch with this consciousness/intuition/ what ever you want to call it. she knows there is nothing needed to complete herself because she was complete all along. we humans have everything we need already. if we would just wake up and see it was here in front of us the whole time. God knows she tried to see the bright side through the eyes of a false paradigm, false values. someone once said this return to lost values is in vain because if we really examine them, we find they weren't really values to begin with. the fake values were just a system of control. she says she's not blind anymore. one thing that makes us humans so powerful are our wide range of emotions. we are capable of so many great and wonderful things. as a painter once said "you can not have light without the darkness." you need contrast in the painting to show its true beauty. thanks for reading |
