The Black Keys – Gold on the Ceiling Lyrics 12 years ago
Why is almost every song interpreted to be a hymn about drugs? *sigh*
IDK, when I listened to this song, it sounded to me like it was simply about someone who is aware of people are trying to us him. He is not judging them "Aint no God in my eye" and knows that this is just part of life that can't be stopped and that eventually he will fall victim, maybe even by acquiescence. But is saying that in the big picture it is not what's important to him in his life...

Maybe "Ain't no God in my eye" is less literal and simply means he is not judging peoples actions critically...

Nightwish – Ocean Soul Lyrics 13 years ago
I hard this song as a stand alone, so maybe I missed something in the progressive story of the CD. My take on this song had nothing to do with suicide. When a woman dresses in white it can also signify marriage, a wedding. Maybe this step is hard or impossible for her, but she still contemplates it and agonizes over it because at the core, she loves him. She wants to be one with him and his world (The Sea). To me it sounded like a women who is in pain attempting to make a decision about a relationship that is fraught with conflict (Losing emotion, Finding devotion)causing her loneliness and sadness during the time they spend apart. Yes, I do agree it has an element of aloofness in there possibly due to the fact that this wasn't supposed to turn out like this, didn't plan on falling in love with him ..(I only wished to become something beautiful Through my music, through my silent devotion)so she is continues to step back from her natural draw to him causing more friction, loneliness and confusion.
