Hello Anderson. You're comment is definitely the best. I agree with each word you wrote. Marijuana is amazing, well, there are better stuff that are also natural, but yeah....it helps people see things clearer. It takes away all the distractions: Transport, motorways and tramlines....and makes meditation possible in crowded cities. | I don't think Thom wrote it for someone. Or lets say the narrator is speaking to someone. He's talking about life in general. And how we put up with bullshit. But as if he's describing some girl and the man who she lives with.....and nobody is shallow nor deep. She is accepting the fake kind of lives that society keeps us in, and she's depressed, she doesn't like it, she never tries to change though. This song is about how kids grow up to be different regardless of what parents wanted them to be. But I think she's referring to homosexuality in these lines: 'Understand what I've become, it wasn't my design. And people everywhere think something better than I am' She is apologizing and trying to explain how she became. And maybe she feels that being a homosexual is like being diseased because of what other people around the world think. I don't think it's about her being in a band and leaving school, because she wouldn't say 'it wasn't my design'.....and to be frank, I would never apologize to my parents and write them a song for joining a band. |
