It's almost like he can't convince anyone he needs help, ya know? "Waiting for my words to catch like I'm trying to strike a match that's soaking wet." Sounds like no one believes him and it just makes him feel crazier. Maybe I'm just over-identifying. Either way, it's a brilliant song. Aside from the lyrics, the music is just amazing. Mesmerizing, almost. |

I believe it's a Friends With Benefits situation gone bad. The narrator developed feelings outside of what they agreed on and now the narrator is beginning to feel like the FWB is taking advantage by borrowing money, smoking the narrator's weed, etc. But all the narrator wants is a relationship; but doesn't know if saying it would end whatever they currently have or actually result in what the narrator thinks they want. This song is the best to crank up when you're driving around with the windows down out on back roads. Love Best Coast. |
