I think this song to be me is about martyrdom. About him being strong in Christ in that midnight hour. Like how by the power of God in and on Him through the Holy Spirit ( Kamikaze -Divine Wind) he'll be saved ; when the fight of faith. You can read Revelations 12:7-11 Revelations 12:11 and 1 John 5:4 talks about how the believer overcomes. though I can't explain how by writing ( in the lyrics he says-"Maybe I'll write") he'll save his life. If you've ever noticed he has talked respectfully and honors both Rachel Joy Scott (Columbine school shooting) and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, both of whom were Christian martyrs. I think he's mentioned and/or talked about them on more than one occasion. I could be wrong on this but would not be surprised if this was what the song was about or part of what the song was about. |

Seriously I think I can relate a bit or much of what you experienced because of his songs. I really believe he is one of God's gifts to many people. Like his songs would make imagination come alive, more vivid. anyway I too was disappointing because his new songs weren't moving me like some of his previous songs did. Nevertheless, his new songs aren't garbage,but they just don;t move me like some or many of his former Owl City songs moved me . I say Owl City, because I liked songs from that project. I never really dug Sky Sailing, Or Port Blue. God only knows how much -Dreams Don't turn to Dust, and "The Real World" and "Galaxies" were so moving to me, especially Dreams Don' Turn to Dust. and no one can forget "Fireflies" "I'll meet you there" was the first song I heard from him. I remember thinking in awe opened eyed something like what is this?!? This was this "happy" music.. Who knows, maybe on his new album maybe there will be something on there that will move you. I don't know if you are a Christian, but I'll say this nevertheless: I believe God gave him this special gift. Maybe right now God may be moving him to take this route to reach some other people. And to be honest the songs are horrible. Many people have voiced their opinion of liking the song. But like at this point we've only hear four songs., Who knows maybe the other songs could bless you..
