‘Into the Fire' is an allegorical representation of a relationship, ‘the fire’ could be interpreted as love and the consequence of despair and inevitable loneliness that is derived from love. Arguably, the ‘ the fire’ could also be referred to death and the song could be explain societies anxiety and fear of death. The song was featured in A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) and connotes to the danger facing the teenagers if they were ever to fall asleep because antagonist Freddy Krueger haunts their dreams. Krueger, who had been subsequently burned to death suffers catastrophic injuries hence the use of ‘into the fire’. |
