If you read the meaning and importance of wolves in Pagan and Wiccan belief systems, you will be able to understand more where Brandon Boyd is coming from. Like se7en11, I also believe that this song is about his Pagan and Wiccan experiences. Also, Boyd's writing style is geared more towards the use of symbols rather than metaphors (ex. Ana Molly, Hilikus). This is obvious even in his music videos.
