This is so stupid.... JonahJ knows what's going on. It's not about a girl (READ THE TITLE OF THE SONG) Doesn't matter what religion or if Anthony actually went thru it or not. It's a concept song. The children are molested by their clergy-leaders, feeling guilty to obey them in sin and want to kill themselves for it all to end, not just "let the pain go away" or whatever. And Yes, this is a song about losing faith in god... "And now I'm feeling so down that there's no god above And no mercy for a soul that's just way too fucked up" Is that not obvious. Quit thinking Bayside is all about relationships. They're more than that. |

I disagree that's about "regaining religion" or something. I do believe it's about a failing marriage that's on the brink of a divorce. Anthony, the singer/writer, is divorced. Union under god sounds like marriage. Alone I stand, Divided we fall fall apart- Not For long, Thankfully sounds like Divorce. If anything it's another step towards disregarding religion. |
