Jared nailed it. Admittedly, I always thought it was "get right with Jesus" as well. But the RIPE part fits absolutely perfectly, and lines up well with the other puns Maynard uses, like "the paw of dogma"
Once you accept the word RIPE instead of RIGHT, the song is just a masterpiece and everything makes so much sense about it. |
