Counting Crows – 40 Years Lyrics 13 years ago
To me, this is really about materialism. How for the 1st 40 yrs or so, were so set on starting our lived, getting a good job, getting money in the bank so we can by a big house and a nice car, but once you hit 40 or so you realise jusveow petty those thingse re, and that youve eessentially wasted your life. As the general meaning any wsy, i love this song, especially the corus's. There i think its more in reference that all these different people are living different lives and going through different things but there all dealing with what there gonna do gor the future then regretting their past.

The Raveonettes – Last Dance Lyrics 13 years ago
To me, this use of words like 'overdose' and 'addiction' are used mataphorically to signify this obsession with this girl he has, that she is his drug, his addiction. It also seems like theyve each other for a while, watching her go through these guys, just waiting for his chance to prove his love, and that for one reason or another (she could be dying, i dont know), but his running out of time to prove to her. So, before her time runs out, his begging for her to give him a chance.

The Wallflowers – Here In Pleasantville Lyrics 13 years ago
To me this song really expresses my favourite quote : "Smile, tommorow will only be worse". It shows how life can seem hard and overwhelming but untill something major happens do we realise just how petty those problems were, that life so far has really been a Pleasantville. Hence, to me the metaphor of Pleasantville is really significant of life thus far. "So, im gonna take my last match, put a fire on every hill and burn down pleasantville", expresses the overwhelming feeling to escape life, and these problems (or Pleasantville) by running away or 'burning' pleasantville (life) down. Commiting suicide. Just my interpretatioln though.
