The track is about dubious characters in power. Generals commanding child armies in Africa and such. |

Yep this is a great track. Its an interesting concept. Quite a good one to think on yourself, if heaven was a mile away would you go there or stay in your life? Even though Heaven is a paradise it seems a hard descision when you ask yourself that question.
Nice to hear Nas up the pace as well. Really spits it here with definition. |

I've been listening to Distant Relatives a lot recently. Whats funny about it in the context of the Nas v Jay-Z beef is that Jay-Z could Never make an album like that. He just doesn't have anything to say. He's like a child next to Nas. Nas goes deep and Jay-Z just skims the money off the surface. I don't really understand why he ever went at Nas in the first place. Its like a thick student taking on the professor and not expecting to get burned.
This track is nothing special musically or lyrically but the pure directness of the lyrics is just great. Neg-ro please. Says it all. Nas dismisses him like he's nothing. |

Does anyone know if there is a reaon why L Boogie didn't get a verse on this song? Seems perfect for her and as she was in the studio already doing the chorus it seems like a wasted opportunity... unless there was a reason she didn't...? |

Man this song is a real treat. As per the rest of the album the Marley lyrics are so dope. Of course, Nas holds his own but he has to work hard on this album. I think thats what makes it such a good album. These 2 really challenge each other and it results in some high quality lyrics. It doesn't get much better really. |
