The Moody Blues – Om Lyrics 13 years ago
I believe they are singing Aum — just saying
To quote a phrase from our Muslim friends; “There is no God but God”.
One God over all creation. Most of us can agree on that.
And yes, I Have accepted Jesus Christ into my life. I try to give thanks every day, many times a day.
Go outside and see the miracle. Experience our Mother Nature/The Creator at work. Then go inside.
Hear the distant sound, feel the life current humming through all animated matter.
Perhaps you will see a butterfly striving through the rain. Ah, hmmm?
Wonderful Song.

Simon and Garfunkel – Mrs. Robinson Lyrics 13 years ago
103 posts….. And now for something completely different;
Back in the day abortions were illegal in the U.S. of A. Other than abstinence there was no truly effective birth control. If a women was unmarried and pregnant she had no legal recourse but to carry the child to term and then give the child away in an adoption process if she did not want/could not care for her child. The stigma society cast on these unwed mothers is hard to comprehend today. Parents would often disown their daughters for this terrible sin of sex without marriage and job prospects were few to nonexistent for those so inflicted. Many a young women chose suicide rather than go through the ordeal. The alternative was an illegal, expensive and often dangerous abortion or go to a home for unwed mothers with the understanding that the mother had to give up the child after birth. I have always thought Mrs. Robinson was about a woman entering such a home.
The institution wants to know a little bit about her for their files — to inform the prospective parents.
"We'd like to help you learn to help yourself” — self care for pregnancy.
“Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home” — pregnancy starts showing around the first trimester, she is going to be there for 6 months or so.
“Jesus loves you more than you will know” — your child will be a blessing to another couple, but you will not know anything about that life.
Woe Woe Woe — as in “woe as me”, anguish, torment.
“Heaven holds a place for those that pray” — until tonight I thought the words were “Heaven holds a place for those that breed”. I just listened to it again on Youtube and @ 1:43 it still sounds like breed or breath to my ears. They are a duo after all, maybe they are saying different words. Or something.
"Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes, put it in your pantry with your cupcakes,” — swallow the truth of this pregnancy.
“It's a little secret, just the Robinsons' affair” — Her and her unborn child’s secret.
“Most of all, you've got to hide it from the kids” — She can have other kids, but they should never know about this incident.

“Candidates debate” — Of course Roe vs Wade was a lawsuit, but there have been and continue to be countless debates about abortion.
“When you’ve got to choose, either way you look at it you lose” — abortion or adoption
“Jolting Joe has left and gone away” — Perhaps her lover was a baseball player and when someone mentions Joe Dimaggio she thinks of the man who impregnated her and left her to fend for herself. Or Jolting Joe could have been a bedroom nickname, if so, it’s a good one.
The reason I wrote this manifesto is because a certain simple sebastion was disparaging of other peoples meanings than his own and that got my dander up,, thanks a lot douche.
The point of this site is: What does this song mean to you? Not what the artist meant. Not what everybody else thinks, but what does the song mean to YOU — period.
There are no wrong answers as long as you are true to yourself.
I only came here because I was curious about the coo coo ca-choo phrase used by Paul Simon and also The Beatles. I have since found a decent site about that;
