My dad just passed away and I like to imagine that this is the conversation between my mom and him. "I don't like walking around this old and empty house" She's alone in a house they once shared "So hold my hand, I'll walk with you my dear" His spirit will keep her company "Because though the truth may vary this" Life and death has taken them to different places "This ship will carry/Our bodies safe to shore" But in the end they'll be together "I'll see you when I fall asleep" self-explanatory, I think Also, the husband always seems to be talking directly to her, whereas she doesn't do the same. I think there are a lot of interpretations to this song however, it's just that this one comforts me. the lyrics still need to be corrected! |
