I feel like this song is about unrequited love. The person is in love with someone who either doesn't know or doesn't feel the same way about them. (Silent love is calling faith/To shatter me through your hallways/Into echoes you can feel/And rehearse the way you heal). The person loves the other so much but they never seem to have taken off as being anything more than just friends. They probably tried to tell them that they have feelings for them but didn't. (High on words we almost used/We're fireworks with a wet fuse/Flying planes with paper wheels/To the same Achilles heels). But even so, the person cannot help but love them and supports them regardless if they return their love or not. (Make them dance/Just like you/Cause you make me move/Yeah you always make me go) |

I see this song being from the perspective of a music artist/performer on stage at one of their shows. At the start of the song, the artist is simply making their way on to the stage and they're looking at their audience - who is waiting and anticipating their show/set. The artist knows that the audience is waiting for them, they're waiting for the artist to start so they can feel all of those raw emotions that the artist's music has to give them. "And what we see, is everybody's on the floor Acting crazy getting loco to the lights out Music's on, I'm waking up, we stop the vibe, and we bump it up And it's over now, we got the love, there's no secret now, no secret now" ------Then the artist starts to preform and the audience is going crazy - getting lost in the sound and dancing around. The rush of the performance is just surging through the artist's body (getting a high off the performance) and they feel alive. "When the lights turned down, they don't know what they heard Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world" ------And even though the audience might not take in the artist's songs with the same meaning to the artist themselves, the artist knows they have power in their art/songs and is able to show the world what they can do. It might not make much sense but that's my interpretation of the song. |

I think this song is about being friend zoned or being in-love with someone who doesn’t love you back. “I was a boat drifting out into sea I had nothing but pieces of thoughts of the hope that you would see me I was a stone’s throw away from land But thousands and thousands of miles away from reaching your hand” ------In this part, he is talking about how he is so close to the person of interest (from this point on I’ll just assume it’s a girl) and yet at the same time, he’s still very far from that person as well. He is probably the girl’s friend and yet he wants to be more.------ “The waves that crashed upon The rocks that you were trying to walk along And in my head I heard them play a song For you and me” ------In this part, the girl is in some sort of struggle – possibly even a bad relationship that she is trying to fix. However, the singer can only see them together. He probably believes that it’d be better if they were together.------ “Let’s get lost at sea Where they will never find us Got stars at night to guide us Lost at sea Where they will never find us Got stars at night to guide us, yeah” ------He is saying that he doesn’t care, and that he wants to be with her no matter what. He wants them to fall in love and not have to care about anyone else. That some mystical force (the stars) will guide them.------ |

This song reminds me very much so of one of my best friends and I. I fell for her a long time ago and there has always been some part of me that never got over her. Every time I thought I have gotten over her, I end up traveling down memory lane and suddenly I'm falling for her all over again. That is also what I think the song is all about. Not being able to be with someone that means so much to you. |

To sum it up, I believe this song is about someone who wants to take their relationship to the next level with a potential lover. However, the lover is hesitant and doesn’t want to jump into the relationship. The person is trying to reassure their potential lover that it’ll be okay, and that they have the support of everyone. They want to let them know that everything they’re doing is for this person. They tell their potential lover that waiting around to see what happens will do them no good and he doesn’t want to wait forever. However in the end, they don’t want to force them to do anything and will leave their relationship in their hands. ///I want it all and nothing less. I want it all, I want the best for you. I’m telling you the truth. You are the one that makes it real, even the sunlight doesn’t feel this good. Whoever said it could?/// -The singer is saying that he wants to be with his potential lover.
