The “I got a beach house I can sell you in Idaho” line isn’t random. I got a house I can sell you is a well known sarcastic saying; it’s equivalent to saying yeah right. The fact that it’s a beach house and in Idaho only enhances the sarcastic sentiment since there aren’t any beaches in Idaho, or at least the kind people are used to seeing. Thus “No, I don't like you, I just thought you were cool enough to kick it Got a beach house I could sell you in Idaho” translates to Girl: You don’t really like me you just thought I was cool/cute and that’s why you’re hanging/kicking it with me. Frank (being sarcastic): Yeah and I got a house that I could sell you (translation: GTFO with that expletive girl!). My interpretation of the fighter jet line is this: If you have an item that is broken, such as a car in the shop, are you getting to use it? What he’s saying is he has a girl that’s a real catch. If you were to think of her as a high level car she would be a Ferrari or a McLaren F1, only better and thus he compares her to a jet, which is what really rich people are buying nowadays anyway. There’s a catch, however, because they can’t take their relationship to the next level because of the girl’s doubts about Frank’s true feelings. Thus, he can’t release the full potential of their relationship just as you can’t release the full potential of a jet or a plane w/o flying it. I also like your interpretation that he is literally lying down thinking about her. |
