Father John Misty – Nancy From Now On Lyrics 12 years ago
Saw him in concert a week ago, and he definitely said "Howard Hughes"

Father John Misty – Well, You Can Do It Without Me Lyrics 12 years ago
This is quite possibly a song directed at Robin Pecknold, singer of his old band, Fleet Foxes.

Father John Misty – Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings Lyrics 12 years ago
Yeah, I think people are over-analyzing this a tad. The "marble" refers to headstones in the cemetery. And "we should let this dead guy sleep" more or less means let's not bang on top of his grave.

Father John Misty – Nancy From Now On Lyrics 12 years ago
"Just a couple states below"

The singer's from Seattle and moved down to LA/Laurel Canyon. Quite literal there. Just like in his interviews he's basically saying compared to the Northwest and his depression that came from living there, it's like a land of milk and honey in comparison. "The devil" could be in reference to "sin" of being selfish. He left his old band, Fleet Foxes (heard of em?) and fled to California.
