this is probably the sweetest, most self-assured song i've ever heard a man sing to his lover/partner. the funny part is, it could be that he knows her/him so well, or that he's just so good at what he does, that it could be a song from him to a potential mate. either way, he's not worried about hurting this person at all, and has no problem stating frankly, "i'm not your heartbreaker" |

this song is about being parallel with someone, but not quite matching, never connecting. there's hope for it, but it's not there yet. it's a very relate-able song for me..he wants to be on the "level" with someone...picture him on a line 2 spaces above another line. love would likely occur if the two lines met, but it's just not working. the person he speaks to sounds like they can't accept that both of their lives are equal in value and experience, but are on quite opposite sides of the spectrum. |
