"be a world child" is wonderfully ambiguous. I think it might as well be that we should be what we are ... cultivate the mystery in us (while we can). "immerse your soul in love" is sound advice, given what awaits us, there's not a second to waste ... ironically, not a second to waste on the insight the song is about. “We're all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn't. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing.” (Charles Bukowski) "form a circle" was first most difficult for me to parse, but I'd say it means, leave noone alone, because given what we all know, we'll die a horrible death if we're alone and don't have support, and support ourselves and others - we'll die without living. It takes a circle to be strong, we should support each other, when we fall, and so we don't fall. |

| Oops, it seems the proper credits are: Del Rey, Parker... indicating that she wrote the lyrics, Parker the music, if I got that right ... hm. | |

Agreeing with everyone above on interpretation, and lovelove the tune/production, but I just saw the writers of the song (just after the lyrics, above): Talay Riley, Jamaal Fyffe, Peter Parker, Kyle James, Jody Connor. The song does seem to sit very well with the way Lana tells her story (except the "finally find you" part, possibly). It's a theme everybody can relate to, as well, overcoming "them". My guess would be: the music, and the singer, guided the lyrics writing :). |
