Alice Cooper – The Man With the Golden Gun Lyrics 13 years ago
Alice wrote this song after seeing a James Bond movie with "Coming Soon: THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN" at the end of the credits. Alice wrote this song thinking the film studio would HAVE to use it for the title song.

Good idea, but it didn't work out that way.

Isn't the line actually, "Old lady's sick, and I can't leave her (at) home"?

Alice Cooper – Brutal Planet Lyrics 13 years ago
It's angels who are looking down from above and commenting on how lovely and grand the planet looks. Alice is screaming at them to get all the way down into the muck and take a good look at what's been going on.

It's Alice's indictment against humanity, and is, lyrically, one of the best songs ever written.

Eagles – Desperado Lyrics 13 years ago
Ill say this, though. There's no song sung by anyone that can follow Desperado onstage.

Eagles – Desperado Lyrics 13 years ago
Desperado is a song sung to a man who is getting older and is in a deep rut of despair. He's seen misfortune, and they've made him hard. The singer knows him well enough to speak of this knowledge, and hopes to inspire him to change, to "come down from your fences."

But a destructive rut is easy to get into, and difficult to break out of. The singer, though, sees the end of the line for the man coming, and is giving him the ultimatum to get it together "before it's too late."

The fence he rides is the one between the two women. The two Queens. If he chooses the Queen of diamonds...the one with all the money...she'll outplay him and leave him a wreck. The other one, the one with a good heart, is the less flashy, but ultimately more rewarding choice.

What the singer is most worried about is that the man is going numb, emotionally, from his inability to let someone in before life becomes meaningless and flat.
