It's about a bad relationship. She's greedy and always blames him for her actions. "So turn that focus back off me now, and go get your broken mirror" Broken mirror is a referring to her seeing herself as a perfect person who never does anything wrong. "The more you get the more you need now, and it all comes down to your love of misery" She creates drama and then tries to play the victim every time "Consequences plant the seeds now (she knows it now), but the cold black ground, you will find it hard to scream" Basically saying Karma's a bi***, people are realizing she does this to herself "As you spit your blame on me, please tread softly as you go, I don't have enough to give, and you have robbed me of my hope" He can't take it anymore |

This isn't about prostitution. If it was, what would he have believed in her for and what would she have said that he can't forgive her for? I think it's about a relationship that ended badly. He wanted a relationship, she didn't, and in the end it was just about sex. He's so desperate for a relationship that it's not the first time this has happened, he ignores his gut when it tells him that he's just being used and then regrets not listening to it when things end. "Now I'll take the blame, so forget my name" She feels bad after seeing how badly he was hurt, He's blaming himself and wants to forget/pretend it never happened "I'm naked and shamed, a moth to the flame, just take my hand so we can both drown" It was about sex and he knew it all along but chose not to believe it. "I'll never believe in you again, I'll never forgive those things you said" In the beginning she was leading him on, now he knows what was really going on and see's she's not the perfect person he hoped she was "My only release is gone and dead, I'll never forsake myself again" Ignoring the fact that he knew what it was really about, he was extremely happy with her. Deep down he knew he would get screwed in the end like numerous times before and this time he learned his lesson and won't put himself in that situation again. "The same sweet game" Again, he knowingly puts himself in these situations "You're halo is a flame" He chose to believe she was a good person, only to find out she didn't have the best intentions "Feel my heart race and breath a sad sigh" He's not over her even though she was just using him. He wanted a relationship more than anything "Let me wash away, and let go of the pain, just look away and turn a blind eye" Again, he wants to forget/pretend it never happened "If I feed I'm stronger, I don't feel no longer" He's angry with himself for putting himself in this situation again. He's become bitter and feels hopeless. This song hits a little too close to home for me. I'm the one who puts myself in those situations and gets screwed in the end. |
