I actually like her voice, it's not the best but it's nice. But I tend to enjoy her lyrics more than her voice itself.
Your description of the school sounds pretty accurate. I used to go o a Catholic school and it only went up to eighth grade, but things were pretty messed up then too. And the local high schools were just like that. There's nothing holy about Catholic school :)

The first time i heard this song, i was nearly brought to tears--it's painstakingly beautiful like most of Lee's work. I still can't believe someone close to her (it would have to be) leaked the song onto internet...can't imagine how she felt. I'm a huge fan of Amy's and I know that I should respect her wishes and such, but...i LOVVE this song waaaay too much. Terrible person, I know ;P |

This song makes me want to cry. I remember one time, one of my friends was considering (and could have possibly attempted) suicide. And she would look confident on the outside but on the inside, I knew she was scared. I tried to help her and showed her the poem "invictus" by william ernest henley and talked to her about it and she started getting help.
That's what this song always makes me think about.. |

This song makes me think about someone who is going through difficult and complicated situations (e.g. mourning a loved one, unrequited love, etc., speaking of wishes and regrets, and is trying not to, well, go insane. They're trying to find the strength in them to go on and survive the hell hole they are currently in. |

Maybe it's not exactly what the song talks about, but this is what it reminds me of..
So my BGF and I recently had a talk about my feelings for him (I've liked him for about three years and didn't really have much knowledge about his feelings, although apparently he liked me early in the year although i think that's b.s.) And he totally made me feel like crap and told me he only dated christian girls and I'm not christian so I'm pretty sure that's why he was telling me...he used to be like my most trusted friend and one of the reasons i even got up to see the Sun..we haven't talked in a while since that.
So this reminds me of us being confused about my feelings and him trying to fix the situation without making things worse, but we've only further distanced ourselves from each other. :( |
