| The Sea and Cake – Darkest Night Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| Such a chilled out song. I knocked one off of the bucket list tonight and listened to this song on the winter solstice. :) | |
| Sausage – Temporary phase Lyrics | 11 years ago |

The first is about being an innocent boy, the second is about being a 20 something and cocky and all. These are both just a temporary phase, because we grow into different people when we're older. Such a sweet bass riff! |

| Oysterhead – Wield The Spade Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| This is about NWO. The president is part of it and isn't going to let people put limits on him. The sacrifices that must be made is the American way of life. Ready the blade to kill, wield the spade to bury people. The barber is symbolic too, he represents the people of the country. The barber had a blade to the presidents throat but didn't do anything about the man who is obviously drunk with power and paranoid and eventually is killed by that man. This song is chilling, especially the presidential voice. | |
| Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade – David Makalaster Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| This version of the song is society's illusion, the second version is exaggerated reality. Neither of them are real just 2 extremes. | |
| Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade – Cosmic highway Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| They are leaving earth because they've done everything and it's dreary. Then they get to the moon and screw it up too now they wanna go to the sun. I think it's about the human race running out of resources and how it just assumes there will always be more. | |
| Primus – Green Ranger Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
From a power rangers/acid point of view. The original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Green Ranger. He started out as an all powerful bad guy who was familiar to the regular cast. After a while, personal and ranger battles, the green ranger turned to the good side. After a stint with the good side his powers began to fade. I think MMPR wise that the green ranger is like an acid trip. It's friend and/or foe or both but eventually it begins to fade. Maybe at the burning man, there was a guy who resembled the MMPR Green ranger or even Jason David Frank.lol I don't know. Dragon Zord! |

There was a comment on here about this being about Jesus' crucification and a possible conversation between he and one of the other guys that got crucified with him. "Let me let Comfort come drown by your side" supports this I believe. At first, Drown by your side might refer to baptism, like the guy will do anything to be saved at the last minute, but then I thought; The cause of death in a crucification is usually a type of drowning from fluid in the lungs. Historians and realists think this is how and why "Water" came out of Jesus when he was stabbed with the spear of destiny; they punctured a lung. |

| Beck – Hotwax Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| "Flippin' a bird" is slang for the middle finger. Hijacked flavours that are "sayin' f*ck you" | |
| Cake – Dime Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Dime is a cent piece. I'm a dime! I'm a ten! Maybe it's a person being modest but optimistic. I dunno. It's a happy little song. | |
| Cake – Cool Blue Reason Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Love this song, I never really knew what to make of it. It does kind of seem like murder suicide now that I've read a bit of what's on here. If the "minutes change like seasons" then "8 more hours to go" sounds like a few seconds before that the noose that "wraps around you're throat" takes effect. The cool blue reason could be the realization of what's happened, like euphoria before the end. Maybe the colleagues are imprisoned because they are being held for questioning in the murders but were not involved. "Rearranging hell" is a metaphor for sorting out his stressful, anxious, grief stricken thoughts. One more time, love this song. Good for a hangover on a Monday. |

| Cake – Waiting Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I think this is about living with credit/debt. The breakdown. (Think that we're important/make sense, something better on the other side of this fence.) -Thinking about taking out a loan, mortgage or line of credit. (soak your bread in gravy/soup) -Things that cost just a little extra when ordering out, maybe a small sign of wasteful spending. Charge it! (the car that you are driving doesn't really belong to you) -the bank owns it, it's owned on credit (You'll always be waiting for someone else to call) -The bank, collection agency, land lord etc. And I think "call" could also mean that they visit in person. The bells that play after the "someone else to call" part remind me of fancy doorbells. I get a sort of feeling of anxiety for living with debt from this part. Always waiting. (Soak your bread in water/wine, seem like you're living like you're having a real good time.) -water and wine are used in Catholic church masses. One costs nothing one can cost a reasonable amount. -The person is starting to feel the pinch of living in debt or on credit but will still fake it and act "successful" in front of other people, maybe people at church. (Do it to your conscience/ all the time) -Feeling guilty for charging things to your card that you know you can't afford more often than they should. (Do it with a vengeance in the morning after 9) -9 a.m. when the door crashers rush into the stores. Maybe when most stores open. Maybe when the bank opens. The sound of the synth step going up and down through parts of the song reminds me of someones finances who lives check to check and on credit, up and down sometimes a little higher or lower but always returning to a basic low. Any input on this would be cool. My first interpretation on here. Love talking music/ sharing some ideas. Sorry for any spelling/grammar. |
