| I think the message is pretty clear in this song. It's about what we as a society have become. It lists a lot of pretty horrible acts similar to what we see or hear on a daily basis. We see the media awaiting the next death sentence victim, because that's the kind of stories we like to hear. We love seeing other people suffer. We are attracted to the drama and discontent of others. It's sad, but that's where the ratings come from. On some level I think it also addresses how corrupt our judicial system is. If a cop has the desire and the time, he can arrest you. Finally, Jesse realizes he is a part of this society and he (like any of us) has performed his fair share of non-altruistic thoughts and actions... | |
