This is definitely my favorite song off this record. I have to think that this song refers to someone who has taken their own life. "I’ve abandoned the outcome in search of the rest I deserve". "You can do what you will with my body but I won’t ring the bell". I believe this is in reference to the days when they would tie a string to bodies before they were buried and attached it to a bell above ground so that if the person wasn't really dead they could ring the bell to alert someone. I would love to hear other opinions. |
